With their fresh perspectives and often radically different life experiences than the majority of our student body, international students make up a crucial portion of the student population at Whitman. Diversity is not just the spice of life, it’s the key to effective problem-solving and critical analysis, concepts at the heart of the liberal arts experience. That’s why we’re thrilled to welcome 36 international students from 22 different countries to campus next fall, including 3 each from Botswana and Bhutan, and 2 from India, Kenya, Iraq, Afghanistan, Hong Kong, Egypt, Sierra Leone, South Africa, South Korea, and Thailand.
And a special congratulations to our Rwandan student, Charlotte Mugisha, who has partnered with the Open a Door organization to win a full scholarship to attend Whitman for her amazing accomplishments in secondary school. Read more here.
We can’t wait to meet everyone next fall!
