Well, I hope you all had a wonderful Thanksgiving. The students had the whole Thanksgiving week off, and are just getting back to class today. In the Admission Office, we are switching gears from recruitment to reading, just as the students are starting to prepare for their final exams, papers, and projects. For us, it means reading Early Decision files and reconnecting with colleagues in the office. For the students, it means spending countless hours in the Penrose Library – good thing it is open 24/7!
I’ve already read some really compelling and interesting Early Decision applications, and it is really making me excited to find out what lies in store for Early Decision II and Regular Decision. Things around the Admission Office are quieting down a bit, in terms of visits as well – this is a good thing, because winter seems to have come a month early!
We’re going to hunker down and read. The students are going to get down to business. And you, the prospective students, should be writing those essays, and filling in your Common App. January 15 will come sooner than you think, and wouldn’t it be nice to have everything done before your winter break?
